Structure of the Meetings
Wednesday Afternoon Group
The meetings generally follow a clearly defined structure, however, this is flexible, depending on the needs and wishes of the group.
- Each individual is given the opportunity to share with the group any concerns, issues, experiences (positive or negative) that they may have had since the last meeting.
- This is followed by a discussion on a particular topic chosen by the group e.g. how the diagnosis affects them and/or others, or particular aspects of the diagnosis that members of the group may be experiencing difficulty with.
- The meeting concludes with making arrangements for the social evening group and deciding on a topic for discussion for the following afternoon group meeting.
Wednesday Evening Social Group
This is an informal social evening group with an emphasis on participation in social activities. The group plan an activity or outing of their choice such as quiz and games nights, going out socially to pubs, restaurants and bowling.
